The most difficult Texas riddles

Van Zandt County has tried to break away from the U.S. state of Texas twice over the course of history. In the first instance, Van Zandt County was unhappy about Texas's cession from the union, as it was with little slaves. So, the county decided that they should be able to secede from Texas. The second time, Van Zandt tried to secede from the nation as a whole. This attempt failed, but their declaration of independence was never repealed, so it is technically still in effect.

The flag of Texas is the official flag of the U.S. state of Texas. It is well known for its prominent single white star which gives the flag its commonly-used name: "Lone Star Flag". This lone star, in turn, gives rise to the state's nickname: "The Lone Star State."

Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County, with portions extending into Hays and Williamson counties. It is the 11th-most populous city in the United States and the 4th-most populous city in Texas.

Armadillos are a presumed vector and natural reservoir for leprosy in Texas and Louisiana. They must have acquired the disease from humans at some point, given that armadillos are native to the New World, where leprosy was unknown prior to the arrival of Europeans.
