Albert Einstein facts

Presidency of Israel. In 1952, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion offered Einstein the position of President of Israel to Albert Einstein, after the death of Israel's first president, Chaim Weizmann. Einstein, then aged 73, refused: "I lack both the natural aptitude and the experience to deal properly with people". He died three years later.

In Ulm, Germany. Albert Einstein was born in Ulm in the German Empire on 14 March 1879. In 1880, the family moved to Munich, where he received advanced primary and secondary school education. In 1894 the Einstein family moved to Italy.

Israel. "By an application of the theory of relativity to the taste of readers, today in Germany I am called a German man of science, and in England I am represented as a Swiss Jew. If I come to be represented as a bête noire , the descriptions will be reversed and I shall become a Swiss Jew for the Germans and a German man of science for the English.” Formally, he never received Israeli citizenship.
