Rehoboth Beach, founded in 1873 as the Rehoboth Beach Camp Meeting Association, is a coastal city in Delaware. In 2011, it was given a 5-star water quality rating by the NRDC, which was only given to 12 other towns. Its population inflates by thousands in the summer, mainly from tourists from the U.S. capital, hence the name, "The Nation's Summer Capital."

The Battle of Cooch's Bridge was the only American Revolution battle held in Delaware. It is also the first ever battle where the U.S. stars and stripes has been flown. Unfortunately for the Americans, this was a defeat. This led to the fall of Philadelphia, which was then the nation's capital.

Since the 19th century, the Du Pont family has been one of the richest families in America. The family, originating in France, the family descends from Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours. The family's first American estate, located at Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware, has been designated a National Historic Landmark.

Founded in 1683 as a court town for Kent County, but later grew and was officially laid out in 1717. The original capital, which was in New Castle, was moved here in 1777 due to its central location and safety from British raids.

Lewes was the first settlement in Delaware, being founded as a Dutch whaling and trading post in 1631. With Delaware being the first U.S. state to ratify the Constitution, Lewes is the first town in the first state.

Delaware is the second smallest state in the United States, located on the Atlantic coast. The state takes its name from Thomas West, 3rd Baron De La Warr, who was the ruling governor of the Colony of Virginia.
