Salvador Dali. Dali grew a flamboyant mustache, influenced by 17th-century Spanish master painter Diego Velázquez. The mustache became an iconic trademark of his appearance and have made him something of a cultural icon for the bizarre and surreal.

Al Capone. This mugshot was taken in June 1931, when Al Capone was sent to prison.

Pablo Picasso. Picasso demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a realistic manner through his childhood and adolescence. During the first decade of the 20th century, his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas.

Benito Mussolini. Duce (meaning leader) is an Italian title, derived from the Latin word dux, and cognate with duke. Because of modern anti-fascist sentiment, Italian speakers in general now use other words for leader, mainly including the English loanword. The same happened in Germany with "fuhrer".
