Alpine skiing is the sport of sliding down snow-­cov­ered hills. Since Finland is flat (except for low moun­tains in the far North), there are places no to practice alpine skiing there. In the whole Olympic Games history, Finland won only one medal (Tanja Pouti­ainen, silver in giant slalom in 2006).
