The first web server was located on the very own Tim's Bern­er­s-Lee NeXT work­sta­tion. While working for CERN in Geneva Tim invented both first version of HTTP protocol and HTML lan­guage. The first web server outside Europe was launched on the 12th of Dec 1991 at Stanford Linear Ac­cel­er­a­tor Center (SLAC), Cal­i­for­ni­a.
