Where did the carrot come from to Poland?

In the beggining of 16th century polish people have started to eat many earlier unkown vegetables: carrot, tomatoes, cauliflower, artichokes, green beans, broccoli, salad or spinach. All of them were brought from Italy by king Bona Sforza and collectively named "włoszczyzna".
