Dry ice is used in re­frig­er­a­tion. It has an in­ter­est­ing prop­er­ty: it main­tains a constant tem­per­a­ture of -78.5C in a warmer en­vi­ron­men­t. This is because dry ice does not melt and sublimes directly into the gaseous form.
