In which country was Asterix created?

France
Belgium

United States
The Asterix comic books were written by René Goscinny and illustrated by Albert Uderzo. After Goscinny's death in 1977, Uderzo took over the writing. Both authors have non-French roots: Goscinny was born to a family of Jewish immigrants from Poland, while Uderzo's parents immigrated from Italy.
