Camponotus ligniperda - this species of ant from Formicinae subfamily is the largest Polish and European ant. There are several so-called castes among these ants. It builds nests in the rotted tree trunks. It shows no aggression towards people, except for extreme situations like nest demage.

Papilio machaon, also called Swallowtail or Schwalbenschwanz is a great butterfly from the Palaearctic ecozone (Europe). The first description was in 1758 by Linnaeus. With a wingspan of 6.5 – 7.5 cm the Swallowtail is one of the largest butterflies from Europe. It is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE.

Ranatra linearis is a species of aquatic bug in the Nepidae family. It is native to Eurasia and North Africa, and primarily found near aquatic plants in ponds, marshes and other freshwater habitats, but has exceptionally been recorded from hypersaline lakes and brackish lagoons. The hemipterology is the branch of entomology that studies the order Hemiptera, including bedbugs, squashbugs, and aphids. The Hemiptera or true bugs are an order of insects comprising some 50,000 to 80,000 species of groups such as the cicadas, aphids, planthoppers, leafhoppers, and shield bugs. The name "true bugs" is sometimes limited to the suborder Heteroptera.

An instar is a developmental stage of arthropods, such as insects, between each moult until sexual maturity is reached. Arthropods must shed the exoskeleton in order to grow or assume a new form. Differences between instars can often be seen in altered body proportions, colors, patterns, changes in the number of body segments or head width.

Heteropteryx dilatata, also known as jungle nymp, is a large member of the Phasmatodea, commonly kept in captivity. It originates in Malaya and is nocturnal. This insect holds the human record for the largest egg laid by an insect. The eggs are about 1.3 cm (0.5 in) in length. Females reach a length of 15 centimetres (5.9 in), one of the world's heaviest insects, and the males a length of 10 centimetres (3.9 in).

The Atlas moth is one of the largest lepidopterans with a wingspan measuring between 25–30 cm (9.8–11.8 in) and a wing surface area of about 400 cm^2 (62 in^2). Attacus atlas, the Atlas moth, is a large saturniid moth endemic to the forests of Asia. The species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his 1758 10th edition of Systema Naturae.

Antennae are the primary olfactory sensors of insects and are accordingly well-equipped with a wide variety of sensilla. Paired, mobile, and segmented, they are located between the eyes on the forehead. The three basic segments of the typical insect antenna are the scape or scapus (base), the pedicel or pedicellus (stem), and finally the flagellum, which often comprises many units known as flagellomeres.

Earwigs are characterized by the cerci, or the pair of forceps-like pincers on their abdomen; male earwigs generally have more curved pincers than females. These pincers are used to defend themselves and fold their wings under the short tegmina. The antennae are thread-like with at least 10 segments.
